About
The Phoenix Movement
Welcome beautiful humans to The Phoenix Movement!
My name’s Sammi and I’m the founder of The Phoenix Movement. I’m based in and around Chelmsford, Essex, and I’m a 41-year-old solo mumma bear who decided during lockdown that, after surviving and leaving an unhappy marriage, I wanted to create safe, empowering spaces for women to be in.
Honestly, I didn’t know where to start. I had two babies, I was about to become a kidney donor, and it felt like a lot.

How It All Began
I started out with a small tribe of ladies. Through yoga, chats, meditation, and a lot of laughter, I slowly built a community. Five years on, I’m proud to say that tribe has grown into a large, gorgeously kind and inspiring group of women.
They come to me for everything from beginner yoga to power yoga, from monthly sound baths to cacao ceremonies and day retreats. These sessions aren’t just about movement – they’re about feeling safe, held, and reconnected to your own strength.
My Mission
I got quite teary at my last retreat listening to how everyone had come to me. I felt so honoured to be a safe space for those women. That’s what lights me up.
My passion is not just to support but to empower women. To remind you that being gentle, emotional, and taking time to pause is still a sign of strength.
As someone currently going through an adult ADHD diagnosis in her 40s and navigating perimenopause, I know how important it is to have spaces where you can be fully yourself. That’s what I aim to create in every session.
What You’ll Get From Me
I’m a passionate, giant button–obsessed yogi who believes that yoga is for everyone. My goal is to empower you to show up for yourself – fully, honestly, and without pressure.
Yoga with me isn’t just about getting fit or flexible. It’s movement for your body, healing for your soul, and sometimes... enjoying cake together after class.
Thank You For Being Here
If you’ve got this far and read it all – THANK YOU, you superstar.

When you meet me, you’ll realise I’m a chatty, bubbly, chocolate-loving, singing yogi – so this long ramble will make total sense.

Much love & yogi hugs,
